The Marathon of Marathons

250 people from the private equity and infrastructure communities, and their friends, are coming together to run the Marathon of Marathons in Athens on 31 October 2010

Commemorating

2500 years since the Battle of Marathon and of Pheidippides’ epic run in 490 bc to Athens with news of victory. The very name of this battle has been transformed into a synonym for athletic achievement and charitable action

Raising

a target of €2,500,000 for UNICEF and other charities working with children across the world.

It will be a day the participants will never forget as they run in the very footsteps of Pheidippides from the battleground of Marathon to the triumphant Panathinaiko Stadium – home of the modern Olympic Games.

The aim is for each runner to pledge a minimum of €5,000 and to aim to raise €10,000 or more. Half of the funds will be donated to UNICEF and the other half will be divided among a small selection of carefully selected children’s charities working throughout the world. Visit the Charities page.
